Don't worry about screen tearing or contrast, this game is awesome. Make you wonder why all the captures they are showing are so dark. Been playing in day light most of the time (except in buildings) and wow, this make any 1080p tv shine. They talk about anti-aliasing? Why? At 1080P, everything is so sharp.

The only thing that annoy me about this game is the texture pop-in. This is the real immersion killer. Not shadows or lighting, or any little imperfections you can only see...

As said in the article, this device combine RGB camera, depth sensor, multi-array microphone, and a processor pretty much as powerful as the one in the 360 itself (same class) so it can control all that stuff. Processor alone should cost them around $50 to $80, and that's in large qty. So, even if this thing comes out at $80, Microsoft will be wrapping $ bills around each of them.

Heck, there's not much room for cost cutting here. A decent multi-array microphone (including voice...

It's a known fact that they always do their round of banning just before Christmas, to artificially boost their sell numbers. Pirates just buy a new console, and simply screw somebody over by selling it on Ebay, or other places as mentionned in this article.

Timing wise, Microsoft is definitively doing it on purpose. First, they make it easy to pirate, so more people buy their console, then they simply lock a bunch of them out once a year before Christmas so they get new increase...

First, for people who are arguing about Wi-Fi... Do you know that you can get a USB Wi-Fi adapter on Ebay for $10? Built into each consoles, it's probably less than $3.00. Not adding it to the 360 would have been ok if you could use ANY USB adapters or at least third party products, but sadly, this is Microsoft... Sure some people do not need WiFi, but wow, the one that do dearly pay for it!

Two: The author forgot two "little" things when he said: "Even though i...

You just have to use the right screwdriver for each job. You need two Phillips screwdrivers (and one Torx for the security screw) and you can totally take apart a PS3 in less than 10 minutes. Sure enough, if you're trying to do that with one single cheap screwdriver that has been used too many time already, you're "screwed" : )

Don't even need to install a patch... I would say quick and easy fix!

"Gearbox's Steve Gibson sends along word that the dev has already fixed the problem. "We are very pleased to report that using PSN friends lists with the game should now work properly for all PS3 customers. The fix has been released invisibly and should work automatically for all PSN users on the PS3 platform. No special action is required by PS3 customers to apply the fix - just play the game and y...

Just after Sony announced the Slim, both Nintendo and Microsoft lowered the price of their console. Maybe this obvious 360 fanboy doesn't worry about Sony selling more consoles, but I can tell you one thing: Nintendo AND Microsoft are definitively worrying a LOT!

You won't see people thanking Microsoft simply because it was quite obvious that most of those games were made using the Unreal Engine, which can run on pretty much on anything. Heck, I think they made a Unreal version for my LG refridgerator. In those case, it's obviously Epic that deserve the thanks (and definitively Bungie who got so much out of this engine and definitively know how to push the right buttons). Hardware wise, not sure the product was overtaxed by the Unreal engine.

Sure the Joker DLC does help a bit since people who have both consoles will likely buy the PS3 version, but otherwise, it does simply show that if devs make a good port of a game, it does sell well on both consoles.

I'm amazed that Need for Speed Shift and NHL games didn't manage to show up in the top 10 too. Guess half a month of sales was not enough.

Yet, 85 people came out with this AWESOME game... Remove the artists, story tellers, managers, directors, animation specialists, level designer, IT support, project lead, all the audio staff, all the voice staff, producers, documentation staff, test team, QA team, localization team, etc, etc, and you end up with a heck of ONE good programmer who knows his way around some "hard to code" hardware!!!

Seriously though, there was more than one programmer, but when you look ...

So basically, if you want the same experience, Calling all Cars qualify, since now, it still works as any old NES games would. No online but still a fun game to play with friends.

And on top of that, GOTY is usually given (as long as the site is not biased) to a game that did raise the bar during the year when it was released.

So even if the game is a shooter, or a sport game, or a fighting game, it doesn't matter if you don't like shooters, sports or fighting. A game that will be THE reference for next year games deserve to be GOTY. End of story.

EA pulled the servers on "old" sports games, basically forcing people to buy new versions of their old licences again, and again. I remember people who got mad because they were paying $50 a year for Live but could not longer play a 3 years old Madden online!

I guess you forgot the uproar when EA decided to pull the plug on their "old" Madden and other sports games (basically, pulling the plug for games that were only 2 or 3 years old so they could sell more recent versions of their own sport games). I remember people claiming it was impossible because they were paying for Live, and thought all the servers on the 360 were under Microsoft's control.

Even if I was not playing it anymore, I'm sad to see this game go. I also th...

Since Patcher is usually wrong, there's more chance for Live to become free!

Or who knows, maybe that's a way for him to pay for Natal, since he said that a powerful processor, some memory, IR sensors, microphones and quality camera will only cost $50 Since he screwed up badly on that one, he is thinking: Microsoft will sell Natal for $50 even if it's worth $200, but you will have to be on Live to use Natal (so live will cost $100 a year to pay for Natal)

On the other side, the choice of games is rather strange... If you want to find the best player for a game, at least pick better games. Those games definitively do not give canadian players any chances ; )

Games were:
Counter-Strike 1.6 (PC): This one is a must, so no problem there

FIFA Soccer 2009 (PC): Ouch, let me guess, most popular in Europe?

Guitar Hero: World Tour (Xbox 360): I guess, this is ok, since it's popular worldwide
